About CrewTrident

Who are we?

We are Claire George and Andy Craighead and, together with our Business Manager Jade Gutteridge, we are CrewTrident, a social venture providing independent specialist support and intervention. Our mission is to reduce social and educational exclusion and promote inclusion through creative, specialist interventions and personalised pathways to change which empower and enable individuals to overcome barriers to engagement and unlock their potential. We believe every individual counts and every individual can engage and achieve.

We have worked together delivering frontline services to children, families, schools and other agencies in the Peterborough area for the last decade. Many of you will be familiar with the quality of our work and have worked in partnership with us very successfully in the past. Becoming independent now means we are in a position to offer our services across county borders to reach an even greater number of children, families and schools.

CrewTrident is a member of the British Association of Social Work and has adopted in full the BASW Code of Ethics 2014 as a framework for practice. We are provided with professional indemnity insurance as part of this.

We are also registered with the Society of Education and Training and are insured to deliver individual and small group teaching sessions across a range of academic, pastoral and therapeutic content as determined by pupil needs.

The CrewTrident Team

Andy: I am a retired Police Officer with Cambridgeshire Constabulary, with specific experience in CID, Firearms, Offender Management and Public Protection. My final 4 years of police service were spent as a Connecting Families Officer within the local authority area of Peterborough. Following this I worked within educational settings developing the Early Intervention offer for children and families within the City of Peterborough, with a focus on primary behaviour support.

Claire: I am a qualified and registered social worker, teacher and headteacher with experience of child protection, youth justice and educational leadership in settings for children and young people in challenging circumstances, those excluded from school and/or with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs.

Together we have over 50 years experience in frontline safeguarding, including more recently Prevent related activities in partnership with other providers. We are both Home Office approved Prevent Leads and Trainers and experienced Designated Safeguarding Leads. We both hold Enhanced DBS Certificates.

We have a set of complementary skills and experiences, which together with shared professional values and a ‘Can Do approach’, enable us to provide a unique, holistic and inclusive approach to working with those children and families that are harder to engage.

We have a real understanding of the geographic and demographic challenges and local needs and demands facing schools and other services. At a time of unprecedented financial pressure we aim to provide creative opportunities for collaboration to commission exactly the targeted services you want and need as an individual school, Multi Academy Trust or school Cluster.

Jade: I have 12 + years of experience providing administrative support to senior leaders and professionals within a specialist education setting. I have held responsibilities ranging from maintaining school management information systems to HR processes and procedures, all with a strong focus on safeguarding and prevent. For the last 5 years I have worked as part of an established team with Andy and Claire, administering the the process for, and being the first point of contact for families, schools and professionals, in relation to the permanent exclusion process whilst providing accurate advice on the legal process and ensuring legal guidance and timescales were adhered to. I have recently undertaken DSL and extra therapeutic training and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
